An extrusion company sets up near Royan under the name of Ecoplastic, and develops in a promising market for the extrusion of polyethylene packaging. A few years later, printing and finishing workshops were set up to create one of the first French companies, perfectly integrated, covering all the steps required to produce plastic bags.
A new management takes control of the site, which becomes the company ECOFRANCE. The objective is to create the first packaging company offering an ecological alternative to the proliferation of plastic packaging in France. Its ambition is the realization of reusable plastic bags for large-scale distribution and industry.
Merger of Ecofrance and Surfilm in Médis.
Global Flexpack take over Surfilm and the company name become Surfilm Packaging.
The Médis site is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
